Avon Books wins Publisher of the Year at the RNA Industry Awards

In case you hadn’t heard the news, last week we sent a team delegation to the Romantic Novelists’ Association Industry Awards because we’d been nominated for Publisher of the Year. Guess what… we won! Our fabulous Senior Commissioning Editor Rachel took home the prize. Here’s what the RNA had to say about us…Rachel Faulkner-Wilcocks accepts Publisher of the Year award

For the publisher who embraces the genre, mentors writers to produce their best work, and is innovative, creative and visionary in the marketing and promotion of Romantic Fiction on every level.  This year’s award was accepted by Rachel Faulkner-Willcocks, on behalf of Avon Books UK, for their commercial acumen and their energy, expertise and commitment to the genre and its authors.

Runner-ups were Laura McCallen from Canelo, and Emma Capron from Simon & Schuster.

Over the past year we’ve had some great successes with women’s fiction, including hitting the Sunday Times bestseller list with Sue Moorcroft and Rachel Wells. We also saw extremely strong sales and growth for Molly Green and Phillipa Ashley.

Rachel Faulkner-Willcocks, Senior Commissioning Editor said: ‘It is a huge honour for Avon to be awarded Publisher of the Year at this year’s RNA Industry Awards. It means even more knowing the awards were nominated by RNA members, among whom are many of the fantastic authors who make Avon the dynamic and creative publisher it is.’

Helen Huthwaite, Publishing Director said: ‘ This is true testament to the hard work and talent that has gone into Avon’s publishing in 2018 – and as it’s an award that’s been nominated and voted for by RNA members, it is wonderful to see this recognised by both our authors and the wider romantic novelist community.’

From all of us here at Avon Books UK, a heartfelt thank you to all our lovely authors whose books we get to publish.
